Prior to medical training at the New York Medical College in Valhalla, NY, Dr. Carter graduated cum laude with a BS, double majoring in Biology and Psychology from Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. He was an intern at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego and completed the Flight Surgery course at the Naval Aerospace Medical Institute in Pensacola, FL, prior to his training in combined Internal Medicine and Pediatrics residency program with Christiana Care and the Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children. As a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, Dr. Carter was both a Flight Surgeon and a General Medical Officer from 2004 through 2008, stationed in San Diego.
