As a nurse practitioner for the last seventeen years, and as an RN working in hospitals and public health prior to that, I’ve treated and supported patients experiencing everything from heart disease and diabetes to hormone imbalances and exposure to mold. For the last five years I’ve taken my foundation in traditional medicine and incorporated functional medicine practices which integrate nutrition and supporting immune function to help patients truly feel better. Now, I can offer more than just pills or prescriptions to manage symptoms of underlying issues. I developed a personal interest in Integrative Medicine when I researched and successfully treated my aging dogs with non-pharmaceutical remedies. I've continued my pursuit of cutting-edge knowledge and am currently a member of the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM), working towards certification. IFM’s philosophy is centered on identifying the root cause of symptoms, while promoting health and wellness from the patient’s immune system and other natural sources.
